So, I finally decided what to start NaNoWriMo with.

I’m going to be writing a sweet romance modern day fairy tale and I decided to call it Average Jain. Yes, I spelled her name wrong. On purpose. Because that’s the trendy thing to do. And I don’t want to mix it up with other stories of the same title. Deal with it. LOL. My husband thinks names spelled wrong are dumb but readers seem to like it so….there’s that.

The story is loosely based on one of my favorite fairy tales, One Eye, Two Eyes, and Three Eyes. You can read the full story here. The gist of it is that there are three sisters, and Two Eyes is treated like crap by her mother and the other two. Magic goat that brings her food. Sisters spy on her. They kill they goat. She buries the heart. An apple tree grows. No one can pick the fruit but her. A Prince comes along, wants fruit, she picks it for him and he rescues her.

But what happens after? That’s not important in the original. But it is important in my story. It IS my story, really.

Obviously, my story takes place in modern time. So, lots of differences. But I think it will be good.

I kind of like stories that have some magic in them. And this story does.

I got excited yesterday and made a cover for it. 🙂

I am still hoping to write the cozy mystery for the second half of November but if I can even manage to get this first story done I’ll be thrilled. I haven’t been doing as much writing as I would like so it would be great to get something published again. And under my own name!

What do you think of the cover?

This is a promo I’m using:
